Have you ever left a job because you just didn’t feel seen or appreciated? I have a vivid memory of leaving a pretty good role and at the classic good-bye party, all of the appreciation for my work and contribution was shared with me…. as I was walking out the door! Appreciation and acknowledgement are the most underutilized leadership tool in our toolbox. This happens all of the time in organizations and I am on a mission to change that.

Here’s the catch – we need to love ourselves first if we want to be good at extending appreciation to others. Yup, you are reading this right. Our own “stuff” gets in the way of our ability to celebrate the strengths of others. Our insecurities, frustration and shame hold us back from showing the love in our leadership, which is why Brené Brown’s quote “Who you are is how you lead” is so powerful. We will share our learning from the Dare to Lead™ curriculum and how self-love has become the high priority focus for becoming inspiring leaders.

In this IR Learning Lab Masterclass we are going to look at how love shows up in leadership. We’ll share our personal experiences and learning with a challenge for you to dial up the appreciation of others, by working on loving yourself first.

Diane Lloyd

CEO & Executive Coach

Diane Lloyd is a coach, speaker and facilitator with a superpower for creating safe and inspiring environments that create unguarded conversations and transformational change. She founded Inspired Results Group for leaders who are co-creating cultures, shaping conversations, and impacting lives in organizations around the world. She is on a mission to end the era of command and control, and usher in the age of enlighten and empower. Diane has an MA in Leadership and is a member of the faculty team at Royal Roads University where they teach executive coaching to leaders across North America.

In addition to her identity as a coach-entrepreneur, she can be found adventuring with her family on Vancouver Island, reading a great book or seeking release on her yoga mat.

Kaila Pilecki

Associate Coach & Facilitator

Kaila Pilecki is an Associate Coach and Facilitator with Inspired Results Group. She has over a decade of experience, working in leadership and fundraising roles with non-profit organizations, where she raised millions of dollars to facilitate social change. She has established and operated multiple businesses including her coaching practice, managing real estate and creating artisanal, cultured butter.

Kaila and the Inspired Results Group team are committed to creating the space for personal growth and leadership transformation. We work with thriving leaders who are motivated to access their potential and create positive change in the world.

In April 2020, Kaila graduated from Royal Roads University, as a Certified Executive Coach.

When she’s not working, Kaila can be found on the beach with her dog Bowmore, or travelling the world with her husband, Scott and their daughter, Evelyn.
