How do I keep my team engaged? This felt like the number one question that leaders were asking me in coaching and workshops this past year. Once the novelty of virtual meetings wore off and the learning curves flattened I noticed a set of negative assumptions start to creep in; my people aren’t engaged, our culture is deteriorating, I don’t feel connected to my team anymore. As leaders in a virtual world there is a new mindset and skillset that can be cultivated to ensure there is engagement, connection and productivity as we move forward.
It was time to call in a pro to help us learn the skills of facilitation – the underrated skill of virtual leadership that we want to shine the light on and develop some skills around! Master facilitator (and fabulous human!) Beth Cougler Blom will join me for a conversation about using facilitation skills in our everyday interactions (even if we don’t think of ourselves as facilitators) to craft connection, conversation and collaboration with others.

Beth Cougler Blom, MEd, is a learning designer and facilitator who works with clients across all sectors to help them create effective and engaging learning experiences. Beth teaches public and private workshops for a range of clients on topics related to learning design and facilitation, and also supports organizations as a group process facilitator. She recently published her first book, Design to Engage: How to Create and Facilitate a Great Learning Experience For Any Group. Beth can be reached at bethcouglerblom.com.
