Building confidence through competence.

A guided program for becoming the most authentic, trustworthy and supportive leader you can be. (The one you wish you’d had at the start of your career.)

Introducing the Inspired Leadership Signature Program: ten weeks, September 27th-November 30th, of online learning, practicing and mastering the skills to lead your organization with strength and confidence in today’s world.

Gallup identifies “the will of the workplace” as changing. People want jobs with purpose, development, coaching—and ongoing conversations about their learning and growth.

LEARN HOW TO BE AN INSPIRING LEADER

Ten years in the making, the Inspired Leadership Signature Program is our flagship learning and coaching sequence for leaders. This ten-week intensive equips you with the learnings and tools to radically shift your workplace culture, learn the basics of coaching, and get people working in their zones of strength and purpose. Additionally, the Inspired Leadership Signature Program supports leaders in the shift to leading hybrid teams—a switch that demands a new mindset, focus and design to make it all work. Our approach delivers targeted, research-backed leadership learning and helps you rapidly embody it through coaching. This comprehensive approach to learning quickly builds confidence and competence as you practice.

80% of people who are coached at work experience greater self-confidence.

BECOME THE COACH YOUR EMPLOYEES LONG FOR

“I have found Diane’s approach to leadership training facilitation and coaching to be inquisitive, thought provoking, and practical. She has built a foundation for her practice on personal experience and well-designed training which leverages insightful tools and professional resources. Over the past two years her support and coaching has helped me gain clarity, reframe my mindset, and navigate some very challenging situations where I would not likely have been successful on my own.”

Josh Dodd, P.Eng., Director – Procurement, Nutrien

I’ve worked with Diane as a coach for my team. Diane has been instrumental in helping us develop a culture of empowerment, resilience and accountability within the team. We have worked together via individual meeting and workshops, which were valuable in helping the team develop approaches to success, particularly during COVID. Through Diane’s blend of personal and professional practices, I have grown as a leader and my leadership team has become stronger. Working with Diane has truly been a worthwhile investment for me and my team."

Samir Ben-Tekaya, VP Investment Risk, BCI

“Diane is an outstanding educator and an accomplished leadership facilitator.  I have had the honour of working with Diane over the past several years designing and delivering a wide range of leadership programs. She is passionate, insightful and exceptionally talented.”

Leadership Needs to Change. (Like, Yesterday.)

The research is piling up: Gallup points to a clear break from the way things used to be done in the workplace and what it calls the current “will of the workforce”. That will is for employees to have coaches instead of bosses, to work for purpose instead of a paycheck, and to have their leaders take a serious interest in developing their strengths and career paths.

The needs of Millennials and Generation Z are different than Boomers and Gen X, and we need to adapt our leadership to meet the current and future workforce. The way we ourselves were led is not going to cut it for these up-and-coming employees!

The time to shift our approach to leadership has never been more critical—especially since for many of us, the pandemic has forced a quick switch to virtual leadership. As we’re all discovering, this is a totally new way of running an org! The Inspired Results Signature Program supports leaders in this shift to leading hybrid or virtual teams—work that requires a different focus, design and degree of grit.

"Millennials and Generation Z don’t want annual reviews—they want ongoing conversations."
It’s The Managerwritten by Gallup CEO Jim Clifton

Our work is to elicit greatness from each and every person on our teams. I am on a mission to end command-and-control leadership, and instead usher in the era of inspire-and-empower. At Inspired Results Group, we believe everyone deserves to work for an inspiring leader. The pandemic showed us that we need our leaders to connect on a deeply human level, using competencies like empathy, authenticity, clarity and courage—and to connect through conversations

Those are the elements the Inspired Leadership Signature Program builds inside you, so that you emerge as an inspiring leader.

Six Qualities of Inspiring Leaders

  • Inspiring leaders are self-aware. They know their strengths and their blind spots.
  • Inspiring leaders are resilient. They are adaptable and resourceful.
  • Inspiring leaders are authentic. They know who they are, and they’re open about their humanness.
  • Inspiring leaders are courageous. They embrace vulnerability and bold vision.
  • Inspiring leaders are culture builders. They cultivate a culture of safety and belonging.
  • Inspiring leaders are coaches. They develop the potential in the people around them.

"The single most important factor in building a successful team is the quality of the manager. Managers—through their strengths, their own engagement and how they work with their teams every day—account for 70% of the variance in team engagement."
—It’s The Manager, authored by Gallup CEO Jim Clifton

Why I’ve Created the Inspired Leadership Signature Program for You

Well, first off, guess you could say I created this leadership development program for myself—my 39-year-old self, that isAnd I know that it will be helpful to youbecause it’s the program I needed when I was looking to level up my leadership.

At that point in my life, I found myself on an executive team surrounded by colleagues who were 10+ years older than me—and who had very different leadership styles than meMy aspirations at the time were to be a VP or CEO in an organization. I was very ambitious and excited about the opportunity to build an organization and lead from the heart!

But I felt insecure and unsure about my leadership. I had never taken a single course on “how to lead or manage others”. I had been getting by with relying on my personality, my ability to build warm relationships, and what I had seen modelled around me to inform my leadership approach.

To be honest, though, I didn’t see the kind of leader that I wanted to be around me. I was a Gen X employee who had been mentored and led by Baby BoomersI knew that my values and the way I instinctively wanted to lead was different, but I didn’t fully trust this inner knowing. (Sound familiar?)

I’d already been a leader for 15 years, yet I lacked any sort of formal training or education in leadership. At that point, I wasn’t even aware of my own strengthslet alone how to develop the strengths of the people I was leading!

Then two things happened that changed my trajectory:

  1. I attended five-day leadership immersive with the rest of the executive team at my workplace, and it opened my eyes to what leadership really is. I immediately saw my style of human-centric leadership on display. It was inspiring, empowering and incredibly exciting for me to see what was possible in my leadership. Transformational moment, totally.

  2. Shortly after this five-day intensive, I hired a leadership coach to support me to really step into that version of the leader that I aspired to be, while working in a culture that was very different. The coaching, when paired with my learning and then applied in the workplace, acted like a rocket booster: suddenly my leadership development took off.

This is why, at Inspired Results Group, we offer coaching along with our leadership development programs—because the learning is the seed, and the coaching is both soil and sunlight. A quick dip into the research shows the strength of the data:

A 1997 study by Olivero, Bane & Kopermann study of a public-sector municipal agency found that coupling one-on-one coaching with leadership training resulted in a near quadrupling of productivity results (from 22.4% to 88% when combined).
A recent study cited in the prestigious Public Personnel Management Journal found a typical management training program increased the manager’s productivity by 22%...but when combined with eight weeks of intensive coaching, the manager’s productivity exploded to more than 85%.
A combination of coaching, classroom instruction, multisource feedback, and experiential training has a decided impact on individual leader performance and organizational effectiveness (Seidle, Fernandez & Perry, 2016).

How Learning to Lead Changed Everything For Me…and Will for You, Too

Pre-course and coaching, I was insecure, easily intimidated and unsure about whether I was “doing it right”, both as I led my own team and as I served on an executive team with very different perspectives from mine.

Post-course and coaching, I was confident in my approach, clear on what my leadership style would look like, and I trusted myself more fully. I found my voice at the executive table, I advocated for others and I asked for what I needed through courageous conversations and clarity of my values and beliefs. My team and I were able to crush the results we were striving for and we changed the trajectory of our program area in way that I continue to be proud of today.

Learning AND coaching were the game-changers for me

  • Learning about myself. Learning about leadership practices. Learning skills and techniques for navigating every variety of conversation.
  • Coaching through the application of my leadership. Coaching through the doubt and insecurities. Coaching as my sounding board and accountability partner. Coaching to follow through on the hard conversations.
